The Old Town Clock
Continuing our series of historical markers – this marker is a tribute to “The Old Town Clock” and is located in the entranceway of the Boyne City Co-op. The clock was built in 1901* and was placed in a clock tower on top of a two story building that once housed the Boyne City Fire Department and jail (now the site of the Co-op). The clock has moved throughout history, and at one time stood at the Northwestern State bank, which is now Huntington Bank. Fortunately for Boyne City the clock has been restored and stands proudly at City Hall.
*working with the Heritage Center to determine the exact year the clock was built.
